Arts Corner at Victoria Park invites stall operators

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is inviting individuals and subvented non-governmental organisations to submit applications to operate stalls during the fourth phase of the Arts Corner at Victoria Park.

The fourth phase of the Arts Corner will run from 10am to 6pm on Sundays and public holidays from July 4, 2004, to March 6, 2005. Its operation will be suspended during major events held at the park upon notice.

Interested parties can submit their applications between May 5 (Wednesday) and May 17.

A total of 32 stalls will be set up at the Victoria park South Pavilion and South Pavilion Plaza for displaying and selling of recreational, art and cultural related souvenirs, and offering services such as painting, photography, calligraphy or sketching.

Applications will be considered by the department's Arts Corner Stalls Vetting Panel according to the quality and/or variety of products/services provided.

A trade test may be required to assess the applicants' skill. Additional score will be granted to the applicants who can provide certificate(s) or resume(s)to prove their skills or related experience.

If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of stalls available, results will be determined by drawing lots.

Each successful applicant is required to pay a $100 registration fee and a deposit of $1,000. The deposit will be forfeited if the stall operation attendance is less than 70% or when the agreement is terminated due to failure in fulfilling the agreement terms.

Application forms are available at Victoria Park Management Office, Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, or Eastern District Leisure Services Office, 3/F, Quarry Bay Municipal Services Building, 38 Quarry Bay Street, Hong Kong.

Completed application forms should be submitted together with copies of any proof of professional knowledge in respective fields and samples of past work or product to the Victoria Park Management Office on or before 5pm on May 17.

For enquiries, please call 2504 4783.
