Sports enthusiasts invited to join in competitions
*****************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is inviting all sports enthusiasts to join this year's District Age Group Competitions.

The competitions, held annually since 2000, provide opportunities for people of all ages to take part in a variety of competitive sports to enhance their interest in athletic pursuits.

This year, Territory-wide Age Group Competitions in three sports - table tennis, badminton, and tennis - will be organised after the District Age Group Competitions.

Enrolment in district table tennis age group competitions is in progress at the District Leisure Service Offices, except the Wong Tai Sin and Islands districts, which have already closed entries for that event. Entries for badminton and tennis competitions will start in May and July respectively.

The best two "local participants" in the youth group and adult group of the district table tennis, badminton and tennis competitions will be invited to participate in the respective Territory-wide Age Group Competitions, which will be held from September this year to February next year.

Enquiries are welcome at the District Leisure Services Offices. Details are also available at the LCSD website at http://www.lcsd.gov.hk .
