Carnival at Ko Shan celebrates Spring Lantern Festival

Members of the public enjoyed a vast Spring Lantern Carnival at Ko Shan Road Park and Ko Shan Theatre this evening (February 5), organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
The attractions included lantern quizzes, fortune-telling stalls and a variety of entertainment programmes such as Cantonese opera excerpts, traditional stage arts, dragon and lion dances, golden oldies and Chinese ethnic dance performances.
A popular spot for photo-taking was a seven-metre-high spectacular lantern inspired by traditional hexagonal Chinese pavilions conveying prosperity and happiness to Hong Kong people.
Another lantern carnival will be held tomorrow (February 6) featuring spectacular lantern displays, lantern quizzes, fortune-telling stalls, golden oldies, choral performances and Chinese ethnic dance performances. Details are as follows:

Tseung Kwan O Po Tsui Park
A spectacular lantern display, "Glowing Legend", inspired by stories from the famous Chinese novel "Journey to the West", is now on show at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza until February 22.
Another exhibition, "Getting to Know Chinese Lanterns", is running in the Foyer of the Cultural Centre until February 19. It features the history and production of Chinese lanterns. Admission to all events is free.
