Performing artists invited to submit proposals for NT scheme
*******************************************************

Local performing arts groups and artists are invited to submit proposals to apply for funding and support under the "Programme Partnership Scheme" to be launched at North District Town Hall, Yuen Long Theatre and Tuen Mun Town Hall in the year 2004-2005.

The "Programme Partnership Scheme" was launched by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department at the New Territories venues in fiscal 2002-2003 and its success prompted the department to run it again.

The scheme aims to establish a long-term relationship between the venue management and artists in order to explore and develop the image and identity of the venues concerned and promote arts education and audience-building in the community. It also provides artists with the space and resources to create new works, and explore opportunities for the arts community to become involved in programming.

To enable the applicants to better understand the scheme, briefing sessions followed by a site visit will be held at 3pm on March 2 at Yuen Long Theatre and on March 4 at North District Town Hall respectively.

For details, please refer to the application forms that are now available at North District Town Hall, Yuen Long Theatre, Tuen Mun Town Hall, Sha Tin Town Hall and Tai Po Civic Centre. They can also be downloaded from the following websites: http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/ndth or http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/ylt or http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/tmth

The deadline for applications is 5pm, April 2.

For enquiries on the "Programme Partnership Scheme" and enrolment for the briefing sessions, call 2694 2568 (North District Town Hall) or 2450 7407 (Yuen Long Theatre and Tuen Mun Town Hall).
