The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced that all its recreation and sports facilities will be open on January 21, Lunar New Year's Eve.

Most recreation and sports venues, except stadiums and sports grounds that have been booked in advance, will be closed on the first three days of the Lunar New Year, January 22 to 24.

However, 26 sports centres, 11 grass pitches, 21 squash venues and 17 tennis venues will reopen on January 24.

LCSD Leisure Link booking services at all venues will be suspended on January 22 and 23. However, Leisure Link services will resume on January 24 at the venues slated to be open on that day.

Leisure Link Internet and telephone booking services will provide normal services throughout the Lunar New Year holidays.

At Queen Elizabeth Stadium, the sports facilities, and the LCSD Leisure Link and URBTIX advanced booking services will close at 5pm on January 21 and reopen on January 23.

Residential holiday camps will be closed from January 21 until January 24.

All heated swimming pools and water sports centres will be closed and no services will be provided at beaches on the first three days of the Lunar New Year. The same applies to stadiums and sports grounds, except those that have been booked in advance.

All bowling greens (except the one at Island East Sports Centre) and obstacle golf courses will be closed from January 22 to 24.

The Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre will be closed on January 22 and 23 and reopen on January 24.

During the holidays, routine services such as animal care, cleansing, watering and park-keeping services will be provided in nurseries, major parks and playgrounds, including Hong Kong Park, Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, Victoria Park, Kowloon Tsai Park, Kowloon Walled City Park, Kowloon Park, Shing Mun Valley Park, Tai Po Waterfront Park and Sha Tin Park.

Notices of opening hours during the Lunar New Year holidays have been posted at all venues.
