New Year's Countdown Carnival at Sha Tin Park, Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza & Podium

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present a New Year's Eve Countdown Carnival at Sha Tin Park and Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza and Podium.

Attractions will include percussion, juggling, music, dancing, magic and strolling entertainers. Admission is free.

The carnival starts at 8.30pm on December 31 and runs until 12.30am.

On the main stage in Sha Tin Park, "Batacuda" a group of gad-about percussionists from Australia, will perform a high-energy cross-cultural medley of percussion, circus skills and mayhem.

Yip Sai-wing and his friends, at 17, Chet Lam and DSC will rock the festive season. Other acts include exotic African Drums and Hip Hop, Jazz, Break-dance and Brazilian Dance.

The Dance and Musical Stage at Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza will feature enchanting Ballroom and Latin Dancing and music from the popular children tales "Snow White" and "Cinderella".

Young children will have much fun and excitement enjoying the magic and drama show at the Children's Fun Corner.

Artists in different costumes will parade around the carnival. There will be bamboo dance from the Philippines, Korean traditional drums and folk dance, Scottish Highland pipe music and Mexican music.

The public is urged to help keep the public areas clean and show care for public property. Aerosol sprays, metallic balloons and bottles are prohibited at the venues.
