Applications for HKCC arts fair stalls close December 7
***********************************************

Skilled artists and craftspeople interested in offering their products and services to local visitors and tourists at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Arts and Crafts Fair are reminded to submit applications for stalls by Sunday, December 7.

The arts fair will be held from February 1 to June 30, 2004. It offers three types of stalls:

1) Photography Services
Stalls may be operated at any time but must be open daily from 8pm to 10pm, when most visitors come to be photographed against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour by night. Successful applicants must pay a registration fee of HK$1,050.

2) Painting/Sketching/Silhouette Cutting/Calligraphy Services
Stalls may be operated at any time but must be open from noon to 7pm on Sundays and selected public holidays. Successful applicants must pay a registration fee of HK$1,100.

3) Arts and Crafts Stalls
Hours of operation are restricted to noon to 7pm on Sundays and selected public holidays. Successful applicants must pay a registration fee of HK$1,100.

For stallholders whose attendance record is 70% or better, $1,000 of the registration fee will be waived; the refund will be paid after completion of the arts fair.

Only individuals may apply. Application forms are available at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre enquiries counter or can be downloaded from http://www.hkculturalcentre.gov.hk

Applicants for photography stalls will be required to give live demonstrations at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on December 11-12. On December 19, selected applicants for arts and crafts stalls may be required to make samples on site of the items they plan to sell.

Applications will be assessed in accordance with the quality and/or variety of products/services provided. If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of stalls available, results will be determined by drawing lots.

Completed application forms should be delivered by hand to the Enquiries Counter, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, before 7pm, December 7. Enquiries can be made on 2734 2097.

Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the fair provides a platform for arts practitioners to demonstrate their creativity and share their experiences with visitors to the fair.
