Revamped LCSD website more user-friendly
****************************************
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has relaunched its website -
http://www.lcsd.gov.hk - to make it easier to search for information and use electronic services through the Internet.
The redesigned main page improves the categorisation of LCSD's information and services. With the new icons, users can now locate the information they are looking for faster and click into the right webpages with greater ease.
One of the most popular Government websites, the LCSD site provides comprehensive leisure and cultural information. The public can also check out balloting results for recreation and sports programmes after applying, or request or purchase tickets for some activities and programmes.
Also accessible via the LCSD main page is the public libraries website, where users can search for, reserve and renew library materials and use the Multimedia Information System (MMIS).
The MMIS system, which has won prestigious information and communications awards, allows access to digitized images, documents including old Hong Kong newspapers, house programmes, posters, maps, photos, clippings, books, manuscripts and audio-visual/ CD-ROM materials.
The public can also subscribe to LCSD's e-Magazine through the LCSD website. Once they add their names to the subscription list, they will receive the latest leisure and cultural information once a week by email.
A visit to the LCSD website is a complete guide to the department's wealth of programmes and user-friendly electronic services.
