HK Cultural Centre Open House scheduled for Nov 29

The Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) Open House, organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, will be held next Saturday, November 29 from 2pm to 5.30pm featuring a wide spectrum of entertaining programmes at the HKCC Concert Hall, foyer and piazza.

The various programmes include a pipe organ recital, children's theatre, Chinese puppet shows, dance and drama performances, magic and acrobatic shows, clowns and jugglers, handicrafts and games stalls.

The pipe organ recital to be held in the Concert Hall is the climax of five months' training for eight talented students and their instructor, Chiu Siu Ling. What's more, audiences will have a chance to take a close look at the majestic instrument.

Free tickets for the pipe organ recital are still available at the HKCC Enquiries Counter on a first-come, first-served basis. Each patron is limited to four tickets. The Enquiries Counter is open from 9am to 9pm daily.

At the foyer, students and instructors from Modern Dance Education Series by DanceArt Hong Kong and Theatre Education Series by Prospects Theatre Company will stage a modern dance and drama performance, "YoungStars On Stage". In addition, members of the public can join the "Friends of HKCC" on site and get extra souvenirs. Other HKCC souvenir collections are also available at special prices.

Various programmes will also be held at different areas of the piazza. "Happy Together" is packed with magic, acrobatic performances, interactive theatre and a traditional Chinese puppet show to delight children.

The variety show, "Mega Fever", is a showcase of spicy African drumming, hot dances from Hawaii, Polynesia, Afro-Caribbean and Afro Brazil, amazing juggling, mysterious middle Eastern dance and a dazzling magic show.

Handicrafts stalls featuring a photo gallery, crystal tattoo, nail painting, glass painting, etc, will inspire your creativity and make great gifts.

The public can also enjoy delightful music by the Accordion & Saxophone Duo while cartoon mascots parading around the venue will add extra colour to the event.

Enquiries can be made at 2734 2820.
