Ketchup to give two freaky shows in October

Ketchup, a local pop music composer, guitarist and vocalist, will give two performances of "Ketchup: Another Freaky Show" next month.

The concerts will be staged on October 23 and 24 (Thursday and Friday) at 8pm at the Theatre, Sheung Wan Civic Centre.

"I always think I will lose all my memory someday in the future," Ketchup says. "Therefore, I would like to invite the audience to listen to my music and visit my 'M-garden' to hear what I see, taste and smell, in the hope of fertilising my own memory tree. Also, I hope the show can make the audience appreciate the simple things in our lives".

Also taking part in the concerts are music director and guitarist Yingcfoo, bass guitarist Jimmy Mak, pianist and keyboard player Edward Chan and drummer and percussionist Feijaiming.

Ketchup was a local band formed in 1998 by Ken and two secondary school classmates. Formed in a fast food shop, the trio's name was inspired by a tomato sauce bottle on the table. After the three went their separate ways for economic reasons, Ken kept the name "Ketchup" and produced his debut solo album "Sweet-smelling" recording songs previously unfinished in the hope of a reunion someday.

The concerts are presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
