The Instrumental Music Training Scheme 2003-04 is now open for applications from beginners aged 7 to 14.

The Scheme, organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, provides training on over 20 string, wind and Chinese musical instruments, as well as courses in musicianship and theory.

Over 4,000 young persons participate in the training scheme every year.

Weekly group lessons will be conducted in Cantonese at the Music Office's five music centres located in Wanchai, Kwun Tong, Mongkok, Shatin and Tsuen Wan. The monthly tuition fee is $130.

The deadline for applications is August 30.

For more information, leaflets and application forms can be obtained from all Music Office music centres or downloaded from the website:

In addition, the "School Instrumental Music Training Pilot Scheme", which includes elementary classes in dizi, erhu and cello in Tin Shui Wai district, will be launched soon. Details will be available at the music centres from mid-August onwards.

For enquiries, call 2158 6464 or 2582 5345.
