Another chance to watch Real Madrid match live
**********************************************
Those who missed out on tickets to the Real Madrid football match at the Hong Kong Stadium can still enjoy the match live at the Mong Kok Stadium via a large TV screen free of charge on August 8.
All tickets for the Mong Kok Stadium will be allocated by the drawing of lots and no queuing is necessary.
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department said the response of soccer fans to the match was so overwhelming that all tickets were sold out last night within hours.
"In order to allow more soccer enthusiasts to enjoy this spectacular event in a stadium-like atmosphere, we decided to open the Mong Kok Stadium for them to share this exciting moment," a spokesman said.
For the tickets at Mong Kok Stadium, soccer fans can obtain application forms that are now available at designated sports centres in 17 districts or the Islands District Leisure Services Office.
The application forms can also be downloaded from the department's website at
http://www.lcsd.gov.hk starting tomorrow (August 2).
All applicants should return their forms to the sports centres/Islands District Leisure Services Office on or before 11pm on August 4.
Results of the lots will be posted up at 2pm on August 5 at the 17 sports centers and the Islands District Leisure Services Office. Successful applicants will also be notified by phone. The public can also check the results on the department's website from August 6.
Those who are allotted tickets can collect them from 2pm on August 5 to 7 from the venues where they submitted their applications. They are required to show their identity particulars. Each person will be allocated a maximum of four tickets.
The opening hours of the 17 sports centres are from 7am to 11pm daily. The Islands District Leisure Services Office operates from 8.30am to 5.30pm from Mondays to Fridays; 8.30pm to noon on Saturdays; and close on Sundays.
Arrangements will also be made for about 10,000 fans to view a training session of Real Madrid on August 7 in the Hong Kong Stadium.
The audience will include participants in summer youth football training schemes, clients of the Social Welfare Department (SWD) such as SARS victims, street kids, disabled and elderly.
Tickets for the training session for SWD clients will be distributed through the department. Tickets for the youth football trainees will be allocated by drawing lots.
