Two more Open Days left for free use of LCSD facilities

Members of the public are reminded not to miss their second-last chance to use Hong Kong's leisure and cultural facilities for free on Sunday (July 20).

"This will be our fourth Open Day to let the public use the facilities free of charge," a spokesman for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department said.

"The combined number of participants in the previous three Open Days has reached nearly 700,000.

"Our Open Days have gained more and more support from the public. The fact that so many people are making full use of our facilities is really inspiring, " he added.

For July 20, the badminton courts in all 18 districts are already fully booked.

And only a few free permits remain for squash courts, table tennis tables, American pool tables and fitness rooms.

People who wish to use these facilities should check on availability with the respective venues.

During the Open Days, the public will also be admitted free to all of the department's 35 swimming pools and its six museums - the Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong Space Museum (Exhibition Halls only) and Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence.

No permits are required for admission to these venues. People who show up will be admitted subject to normal capacity restrictions.

Distribution of permits for the last Open Day on July 27 will start at various indoor sports venues on July 21.
