Butterfly Beach in Tuen Mun re-opened

Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 9) that the Butterfly Beach in Tuen Mun had been re-opened at 11.30 am with lifeguard service operating from 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays and from 8 am to 7 pm on weekends and public holidays.

The re-opening followed the advice of the Environment Protection Department that the beach is now suitable for swimming.

The Butterfly Beach was closed temporarily on July 7, 2003 in view of the sighting of a minor oil spillage.
