Arts Fun Fairs resume Sunday at Kowloon, Lai Chi Kok Parks
*********************************************************
Following a popular response from the public and stall operators, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has decided to extend its "Arts Fun Fairs" at Kowloon Park and Lai Chi Kok Park until the end of November.
The new round of fairs will be held at the Loggias of Kowloon Park and Lai Chi Kok Park (Stage III) on Sundays and public holidays, starting this Sunday (June 1), and running until November 30, said a spokesman for the department.
Opening hours are from 1pm to 7pm and admission is free.
Each park will have 50 fun-fair stalls. Recreational, artistic and cultural work and pre-packaged traditional snacks will be on sale, while masters of the arts of painting, photography, calligraphy and sketching will demonstrate their skills.
The department has also set up two "Arts Corners" at Victoria Park and Hong Kong Park.
"The 'Arts Fun Fairs' aim to help the public to cultivate an appreciation of the arts, thus enhancing the arts culture of Hong Kong and making the parks more appealing to local and overseas visitors," the spokesman said.
"They will be a lot of fun for our visitors and are definitely not to be missed," the spokesman added.
