Hong Kong Cultural Centre arts fair invites applications
Art lovers interested in promoting the arts and sharing their skills and experience with residents and tourists are invited to submit applications to operate stalls at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Arts and Crafts Fair from July 1 to December 31, 2003.
The Arts and Crafts Fair offers three types of stalls:
1) Photography Services
Operators are allowed to run their stalls at any time, but they must offer their services daily from 8pm to 10pm, when most visitors come to the fair. Successful applicants must pay a registration fee of HK$50 and a deposit of $1,000.
2) Painting/Sketching/Silhouette Cutting/Calligraphy/Body Painting Services
Operators can provide their services at any time, but they must operate from noon to 7pm on Sundays and selected public holidays. Successful applicants must pay a registration fee of HK$100 and a deposit of $1,000.
3) Arts and Crafts Stalls
Operators can only operate their stalls from noon to 7pm on Sundays and selected public holidays. Successful applicants must pay a registration fee of HK$100 and a deposit of $1,000.
The deposit will be refunded after the fair if attendance reaches 70% or more. If attendance is less than 70%, the deposit will be forfeited.
Applications are open to individuals only. Those interested can fill in the application forms that are available at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre enquiries counter or can be downloaded from the website, www.hkculturalcentre.gov.hk
Applicants for photography and arts and crafts stalls are required to give live demonstrations at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre either on May 30 to 31 or June 9 to 10.
Applications will be assessed in accordance with the quality and/or variety of products/services provided. If qualified applicants exceed the quota, results will be determined by drawing lots.
Completed application forms should be delivered by hand to the Enquiries Counter, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, on or before 7pm, May 25, 2003. Enquiries can be made on 2734 2097.
Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the fair was launched on December 23, 2001. It provides a platform for arts practitioners to demonstrate their creativity and share their experiences with visitors to the fair. There will also be free entertainment at the venue.
