Operators invited to run third phase Arts Fun Fair stalls

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is inviting individuals or subvented non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to apply to operate stalls in the third phase of the Arts Fun Fair. Stalls are available at the Loggia of Kowloon Park and the Loggia of Lai Chi Kok Park (Stage III) from April 22.

A spokesman for the department said the second phase of the Arts Fun Fair at Kowloon Park and Lai Chi Kok Park, which started in December last year, will be completed on May 31.

"As the Arts Fun Fair has been well received by both the park goers and stall operators, the department has decided to launch a third phase immediately after," the spokesman said. "This phase of the Arts Fun Fair is open to the public on Sundays and public holidays from 1 pm to 7 pm between June 1 and November 30."

He added that the Arts Fun Fair would house 50 stalls each at Kowloon Park and Lai Chi Kok Park (Stage III) for the display and sale of recreational, art and cultural-related souvenirs, pre-packed traditional snacks and services, such as painting, photography, calligraphy and sketching.

At present, the department has also set up two Arts Corners at Hong Kong Park and Victoria Park and an Arts and Crafts Square at Tsuen Wan Park.

Any interested individuals or subvented NGOs are welcome to apply to operate the stalls at Kowloon Park and Lai Chi Kok Park from April 22.

Applications will be considered by the department in accordance with the quality and/or variety of products/foods/services provided. If qualified applicants exceed the quota after vetting, results will be determined by drawing lots. Each successful applicant is required to pay a registration fee of $100.

Application forms will be available at Kowloon Park Management Office, 1/F, 22 Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui or Sham Shui Po District Leisure Services Office at 7/F, Un Chau Street Municipal Services Building, 59-63 Un Chau Street, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon.

All completed application forms should be submitted together with copies of proof of the applicants' professional knowledge in respective fields (if any) and samples of their past work or samples of products to the related office on or before 5 pm on May 6.

For enquiries, please call 2724 3344 (Kowloon Park) or 2386 0945 (Lai Chi Kok Park).
