"Jazz and Alternative Music" concert to be held tomorrow


The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present a free concert "2003 Spring Arts Fair - Jazz & Alternative Music" tomorrow (March 2) from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) Piazza. Showcasing Jazz, Rock, Blues, R & B, Rap and Hip Hop, it is a must for Jazz and alternative music lovers.

Three performing areas will be set up at the HKCC Piazza and five different groups will present hot music and dance to the audience. Led by Cary Abrams, band "Roadhouse" will perform at Piazza A (near Clock Tower) featuring Rock music from 2 pm to 3 pm. They will be followed by "ABA and Company" playing R & B music in the next hour. Members of "ABA and Company" include guitarist Donald E. Taft, bass guitarist Ray Bon Corington, keyboard player Jondi Mac and Saxophone Player Oliver Smith. Finally, "Roadhouse" will continue with Rap music starting from 4 pm.

At Piazza B (adjacent to Piazza A), one of the most talented local bassist Hong and his friends will present Hip Hop music while "Perceptive Sense" will perform Hip Hop dance. Jazz and Blues lovers should not miss the performance by "William Tang & Blue Wail" at Piazza C (near Serenade Restaurant).
