Ko Shan Road Park Carnival celebrated Spring Festival

Showcasing a series of programmes and spectacular lanterns, the Spring Lantern Carnival organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) this evening (February 15) at Ko Shan Road Park and Ko Shan Theatre attracted thousands of public to attend. The Carnival was filled with festive atmosphere and brought joy and fun to the public.

At the Ko Shan Road Park Carnival, renowned singer Ms Amy Wu and other artistes presented traditional Chinese love songs, further enhancing the romantic touch of the Carnival.

At the Ko Shan Theatre, traditional stage arts including Chinese martial arts, traditional Chinese dances, songs and a variety of Chinese Opera repertoire were featured.

Spectacular lantern groups of which a seven-metre high three-tier lantern featuring full moon, cranes and leaping carps were on display and became the popular spots for photo-taking.

Other popular programmes included Chinese percussion, lion dance, golden romance concert, lantern riddle quiz and fortune-telling, adding the festive atmosphere to the event.

Apart from the Carnival tonight, the LCSD will present another Spring Lantern Carnival tomorrow (February 16) from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm at Fanling Recreation Ground. All programmes are admission free. Entertaining programmes include children's choral concert, Chinese percussion, lantern riddle quiz, acrobatics, Chinese tea corner, fortune-telling, nostalgic games as well as popular songs concert by artistes. Spectacular lantern "Greetings of Dragon and Phoenix in Spring Festival" measuring seven metre high with colourful decoration of rainbow, crane, dragon, phoenix and peacocks will be on display for photo-taking.

In addition to the Spring Lantern Carnivals, a spectacular lantern showcase - "Luna and Luminaire" featuring "The Narcissus Garden", "The Peony Garden" and the "Greetings from the Golden Goat" is now on display at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza until March 3.
