To arouse public interest in horticulture and to enhance awareness of greening, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will organise a horticulture education exhibition entitled "The Wonderful World of Plants" tomorrow (November 22) and on Sunday (November 23) from 10am to 4pm at the Arcade of Kowloon Park. Admission is free.
There are an estimated 350,000 species of plants in existence, of which more than 250,000 species have been identified. They show a wide diversity of forms and characteristics for survival in a wide range of habitats. Flowering plants are the most obvious in diversity, quantity and distribution.
Descriptive display panels will enable members of the public to learn more about the classification of plants.
Fringe activities including games stalls and plant decoration workshops will be held during the exhibition at the Kowloon Park Arcade. Visitors can also share the fun of pot planting under the guidance of horticulture instructors.
