Exhibition of 2013 Lunar New Year Fireworks Display Photo Competition winning entries
嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗嚗

     The 2013 Lunar New Year Fireworks Display, jointly sponsored by the Hong Kong Chinese Importers' and Exporters' Association and the Hongkong Hainan Commercial Association, was held successfully on February 11 (the second day of the Lunar New Year). In conjunction, a photo competition on the fireworks display was organised by the associations to encourage more people to capture the moments of festive joy. All winning entries are on display in the Foyer of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre from today (June 5) to June 7. Admission is free.

     This year's photo competition on the 2013 Lunar New Year Fireworks Display received some 600 entries. A judging panel consisting of photography experts selected a total of 34 winning entries, with 18 from the open category and 16 from the student category. The top prize winners of the contest are as follows:

Student Category
Champion: Lee Ying-hei
1st runner-up: Wong Wing-ting
2nd runner-up: Chan Chi-sing

Open Category
Champion: Yip Wai-kit
1st runner-up: Wan Chi-lung
2nd runner-up: Vicks Lai

     To enrich the event, the photo exhibition is also displaying a series of firework artworks using the "Paint on Picture" technique created by young artist Samantha Li.

     The 2013 Lunar New Year Fireworks Display Photo Competition was jointly organised by the Hong Kong Chinese Importers' and Exporters' Association and the Hongkong Hainan Commercial Association, with the assistance of the Association of Hong Kong Photographic Equipment Importers, and the exhibition venue is sponsored by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
