Young Cantonese opera artists to showcase their talent
Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the "Young Cantonese Opera Artists Series" offers opportunities for up-and-coming professional young performers to showcase their talent onstage. The series' coming attractions are performances in November by the Young Academy Cantonese Opera Troupe that will feature five traditional excerpts, "Lu Bu Test-rides Steed", "Lu An Zhou", "Spectral Marriage from Dream in Peony Pavilion", "Wu Song Slays His Sister-in-law" and "The Monkey King Borrows the Magic Fan".
The Young Academy Cantonese Opera Troupe, co-ordinated by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, is currently receiving a three-year grant from the Cantonese Opera Development Fund.
