An exhibition entitled "Beautiful World - Art Summer Camps" opened today (August 27) at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre and will run until September 29. It displays works created by participants from the Hong Kong Association of the Deaf and Caritas Lok Mo Integrated Vocational Training Centre at the art summer camps held in August.

Organised by the Art Promotion Office (APO) of the Leisure and Cultural services Department in conjunction with the Centre for Community Cultural Development, the art summer camps consisted of a series of art workshops, which gave participants a chance to explore and get involved in art creation. Using various channels to stimulate participants' interest in different art media, this art project encouraged people from all walks of life to enjoy the fun of artistic creation together.

Students from the Hong Kong Association of the Deaf and Caritas Lok Mo Integrated Vocational Training Centre were invited to join the summer camps to experience a variety of fascinating forms of art creation under the theme "Beautiful World". Through different activities such as drawing, mask and shadow puppet making, storytelling and an environmental art workshop, the art summer camps offered the participants a chance to express themselves freely and together create their own beautiful world beyond the confines of city life.

In addition to showing works created by the participants, the exhibition also features video clips about the art camps.

The Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre is located at 7A Kennedy Road, Central, Hong Kong. The exhibition is open from 10am to 9pm. It is closed on Tuesdays (expect public holidays). Admission is free.
