In celebration of the 14th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, the Military Band of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Hong Kong Police Band will jointly present symphonic concerts on June 30 and July 1 at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium. Due to the overwhelming response, tickets for the two concerts are sold out.

"Symphonic Concert in Celebration of the 14th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR" is presented by the Government of the HKSAR, organised by the Home Affairs Bureau, coordinated by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and supported by the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the HKSAR, the Chinese People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison and the Publicity Department of the General Political Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

More than 400 performers from the Military Band of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the Hong Kong Police Band, the Military Band of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison and the Hong Kong Association of Choral Societies will perform in the concerts. The programme includes music pieces such as "Homecoming", "Pearl of the Orient", "Below the Lion Rock", "March of Military Bearing", "Mambo No. 5" and "Soaring Dragon Leaping Tiger" (with percussion solo by Ronald Chin).

To share the joy with more people, an outdoor performance by the Military Band of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Hong Kong Police Band will be held at 4pm on July 2 at Piazza C, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Admission will be free.
