An additional performance of the marionette theatre show "Circus" will be held on July 31 at 7.30pm in response to overwhelming public demand. Tickets are available from this Friday (May 27) onwards.

Produced by the award-winning Demmeni Marionette Theatre of Russia, this star-studded puppet circus is one of the highlights of the large-scale summer festival, International Arts Carnival (IAC), presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

Watching this crazy circus, audiences will see lions jump through paper hoops, elephants with a love of weightlifting, dancing horses and troublesome donkeys. These talented creatures take centre stage thanks to skillful Russian puppeteers who bring the marionettes to life and take them through a series of colourful and amusing antics. In other acts, audience members will hold their breath as marionettes walk the tightrope and perform daring feats on swinging trapezes. And in between, they will have a laugh together with live actor-clowns.

The additional performance of "Circus" will be held at 7.30pm on July 31 at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre. Tickets priced at $100, $160 and $220 will be available at URBTIX from May 27. Other performances are on July 29 and 30 at 7.30pm, and on July 30 and 31 at 3pm, with limited tickets available.

Half-price tickets are available for full-time students, senior citizens aged 60 and above, people with disabilities and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. Booking discounts of up to 20% are available for full-price performing arts/film programmes.

IAC's programme brochures are available at URBTIX outlets or at the Carnival website www.hkiac.gov.hk. For programme enquiries, please call 2370 1044. Internet bookings can be made at www.urbtix.hk. Credit card telephone bookings can be made on 2111 5999.
