Water quality improves at four beaches in Sai Kung District

Attention TV/radio announcers:

Please broadcast the following as soon as possible and repeat it at regular intervals:

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department said today (March 3) that the red tides seen earlier in water off Clear Water Bay First Beach, Clear Water Bay Second Beach, Silverstrand Beach and Hap Mun Bay Beach in Sai Kung District have dissipated. The red flags have been lowered.

During the winter (November 2010 to March 2011), lifeguard services at Clear Water Bay First Beach and Hap Mun Bay Beach are suspended. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at these two beaches.

Ends/Thursday, March 3, 2011
