Jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and the Hong Kong Marching Band Association, a Marching Band Parade will be held at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza this Thursday (December 30) from 2pm to 5pm. Featuring 18 local and overseas marching bands, the parade is part of the Hong Kong Marching Band Festival 2010. Admission is free.

Twelve marching band troupes from local primary and secondary schools will perform. They are from Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College (Bravo), Elegantia College (Phantom Warrior), Tack Ching Primary School, Chan Shu Kui Memorial School (Fire Dragon), Po Leung Kuk Ma Kam Ming College (Pegasus), HKSYC & IA Wong Tai Shan Memorial College (Phoenix), Buddhist Sum Heung Lam Memorial College (Legend), KCBC Hay Nien (Yan Ping) Primary School (Dream Snow), Lam Tin Methodist Primary School, HKTAYYI Chan Lui Chung Tak Memorial School, Hon Wah College and The MCHK Wesley College.

Three members of the Hong Kong Marching Band Association - the Hong Kong Youth Marching Band (Blue Sky Regiment), the Hong Kong Junior Marching Band and the Hong Kong Marching Band - will also join the parade. These troupes have performed in many large scale local events and at various marching band events worldwide.

In addition, there will be performances by marching bands from Nanjing and Kunming, as well as from Japan's Mashiki Junior High School to add colour to the event.

For enquiries, please call 2591 1340 (LCSD) or 2774 0896 (Hong Kong Marching Band Association), or visit the webpage: www.lcsd.gov.hk/eo, and www.hkmba.org.hk.
