The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) presents Dance Day again on December 18, to mark the closing of the Hong Kong Dance Festival. This fun-filled carnival welcomes people from all walks of life to dance to the beat of all kinds of music at Tsuen Wan Town Hall.

Starting from noon, the event will showcase various types of dance, from modern dance to folk and jazz, tap dancing, Chinese dance, even environmental and multi-media dance. Everyone is welcome to register and join in the dance performances, as well as the "U Can Dance!" free dancing zone. Other attractions include a parade, dance workshops and game stalls.

Another of the many attractions is a multi-media show to be staged at the Exhibition Gallery. Seven renowned local dancers, Ong Yong-lock, Allen Lam, Pewan Chow, Victor Ma, Francis Leung, Popo Tso, and Daniel Yeung will take turns performing crossover dance routines backed by multi-media projection and installations.

LCSD has invited renowned local dancer Daniel Yeung to be Artistic Coordinator for the event. In addition to the dancers mentioned above, also participating at Dance Day are Unlock Dancing Plaza, Y-Space, Muse Motion, Folkdance Association of Hong Kong, School of Dance of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Hong Kong Dance Company, Association of Hong Kong Dance Organisations, DanceArt Hong Kong, Passoverdance, Rico Tsoi Dance Centre, Biuguk, Ban's Gig Drums, R&T (Rhythm & Tempo) and Cyrus Hui.

This is an event for all the family, dance enthusiasts and young people. Admission is free. On December 18 (Saturday), the parade will take place at 12.30pm and all activities will end at 5pm. Free shuttle bus services are available from noon to 4pm from Tsuen Wan MTR station (near Sai Lau Kok Road) to Tsuen Wan Town Hall.

Free tickets for the dance workshops will be distributed from 12.30pm at the Event Enquiry Counter on the day on a first-come, first-served basis. Each person is entitled a maximum of two tickets for each session.
