Over 40 local youth bands and dance groups will perform in the "Youth Band Marathon" to be held at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza this Sunday (November 14) from 2pm to 7pm. Admission is free.
Two stages - the "Flying Platform" and the "Band Stage" - will be set up in the Piazza, with DJ Alex Lee and Tinyee Wong as the emcees. More than 20 local bands will play popular music, rock, pop and their own pieces. There will also be dance groups performing break dance, street dance, pop jazz and hip hop.
The organisers has also invited local groups Sugar Club and Dear Jane to be the guest performers. Set up in 2007 by Kandy and Sebastian, Sugar Club has performed in many music festivals both in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Dear Jane is formed by Howie, Jackal and Tim. The group won several local awards and their works received acclaim from music lovers.
"Youth Band Marathon" is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, with The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong, Caritas Youth and Community Service, Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association (Tuen Mun Integrated Social Service Centre, Butterfly Bay Integrated Social Service Centre) and ELCHK (North District Integrated Youth Service Centre) as programme partners.
