Temporary closure of Lo So Shing Beach

Please broadcast the following as soon as possible:

Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) says today (September 8) that because of sightings of dead fish from unidentified sources at Lo So Shing Beach in Islands District, the red flag has been hoisted at the beach. The beach will be closed until further notice. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beach.

     The Environmental Protection Department, Marine Department and Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department have been contacted for follow up action. Site clearance by LCSD staff is underway. The LCSD will closely monitor the situation and will take further action as necessary.
