*****************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is inviting individuals and subvented non-governmental organisations to apply to operate stalls of the Arts Fun Fair (Phase 12) at Kowloon Park. Applications will be open from tomorrow (April 7).

The Arts Fun Fair (Phase 12) will be held at the Kowloon Park Loggia from June 6, 2010, to May 29, 2011. The stalls will run from 1pm to 7pm on Sundays and public holidays.

The fair will have a total of 30 stalls selling handicrafts or providing arts services. Handicrafts and artworks to be offered include pottery, straw-weaving work, dough models, paper craftwork, carving work, accessories, floral artwork, sand paintings, cloth artwork and clay work. Services to be provided include photography, painting, calligraphy, silhouette cutting and sketching or caricature.

The prospectus and application forms will be available from tomorrow on 1/F, Kowloon Park Management Office, 22 Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, and can be downloaded from the LCSD's website, www.lcsd.gov.hk/parks/kp/en/arts_and_crafts.php .

Interested parties should submit completed application forms together with copies of relevant proof of professional knowledge in the respective field (if any) and sample(s) of handicrafts or artwork (not more than three pieces) to the Kowloon Park Management Office during office hours. Deadline for submission is 6.15pm on April 23. The Arts Fun Fair Vetting Panel will consider the applications based on the variety, quality, creativeness, artistic merit and attractiveness of the handicrafts or arts services, as well as relevant professional skills possessed by applicants.

Successful applicants are required to pay a registration fee of $100 and a security deposit of $1,000 for each stall. The security deposit will be refunded upon the completion of the agreement, on condition that the stall operator has operated the stall for not less than 60% of the total business days stipulated in the agreement. Successful applicants are required to effect and keep in force a public liability insurance with an indemnity of not less than HK$6.5 million during the agreement period.

For enquiries, please call the Kowloon Park Management Office at 2724 3344 during office hours.
