The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (February 5) the opening arrangements of its recreation and sports facilities during the Lunar New Year holidays.
All parks and playgrounds will remain open during the Lunar New Year holiday period (February 14 to 16).
Sports centres, various fee-charging land-based facilities, swimming pools and water sports centres will be closed during the holidays. Services at gazetted beaches will be suspended. Hong Kong Stadium and all sports grounds will be closed unless advance bookings have been made.
Holiday camps will be closed during the holidays and lodging will not be provided on New Year's Eve (February 13).
For public convenience, 27 sports centres, 14 turf pitches venues, 20 squash venues, 18 tennis venues, the bowling greens at Island East Sports Centre and Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre will reopen on the third day of the Lunar New Year (February 16).
Leisure Link booking offices will be closed during the holidays and will resume operations when the venues reopen on the third day of the Lunar New Year. The Leisure Link Internet and telephone reservation services will operate as usual throughout the holiday.
Opening hours of the recreation and sports venues during the Lunar New Year holidays have been posted at all venues and uploaded onto the department's website www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/lunar_new_year_open_hr.php.
