The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (October 30) the details of winter lifeguard services at its 32 gazetted beaches.
At present, lifeguard services at LCSD beaches are provided from 9am to 6pm daily. Lifeguard services during the winter (November 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010) are as follows:
During the period, the lifeguard services at four beaches in Southern District - Repulse Bay Beach, Middle Bay Beach, Stanley Main Beach and Big Wave Bay Beach - will be continue from 9am to 6pm daily in November and March 2010.
At Deep Water Bay Beach, the lifeguard services will be maintained from 9am to 6pm every day from November 1-30 and from March 1-31, 2010; and from 8am to 5pm every day from December 1, 2009 to February 28, 2010.
At Clear Water Bay Second Beach and Silverstrand Beach in Sai Kung District, and Golden Beach in Tuen Mun District, lifeguard services will be provided from 8am to 5pm daily from November 1 to March 31, 2010.
Lifeguard services at the remaining 24 LCSD beaches will be suspended from November 1 to March 31, 2010. The beaches are South Bay Beach, Chung Hom Kok Beach, St. Stephen's Beach, Shek O Beach and Turtle Cove Beach in Southern District; Trio Beach, Kiu Tsui Beach, Hap Mun Bay Beach and Clear Water Bay First Beach in Sai Kung District; Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Lo So Shing Beach, Kwun Yam Beach, Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach, Silver Mine Bay Beach, Pui O Beach, Upper Cheung Sha Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach in Islands District; Butterfly Beach, Castle Peak Beach, Kadoorie Beach, Cafeteria Old Beach and Cafeteria New Beach in Tuen Mun District and Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach in Tsuen Wan District.
