Self-test Fitness Corner

Leisure and Cultural Services Department - Healthy Exercise for All Campaign

Introduction

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has set up “Self-test Fitness Corners” at its sports centres in the 18 districts across Hong Kong. These corners allow members of the public access to their basic health measurements, such as body fat percentage, muscle mass and body water content, through simple self-test of physical fitness. Users can download the test results instantly via smartphones as reference information for personal health management. The locations of these corners are as follows:

Instruction of Use

  1. Select your gender, age and height;
  2. Stepping barefoot onto the Bioelectrical Impedance Analyser (BIA), stand steadily and grip the handle with both hands;
  3. Until the analysed data appear;
  4. Use your smartphone to download the report.

Remarks: A weak electrical current will pass through the body when the test is being conducted. Do not use the BIA if you are pregnant or have embedded electronic implants (such as cardiac pacemakers).

 

Precautions for use and cleaning - 3-steps disinfection

  1. Disinfect your hands;
  2. Before the test, wipe the platform and handles of the BIA with a tissue sprayed with disinfectant;
  3. After the test, wipe the platform and handles of the BIA again with a tissue sprayed with disinfectant.

Remarks: To avoid causing damage to the BIA, do not spray disinfectant directly onto its screen, handles or platform.
