Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance

DEPARTMENTAL POLICY

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is committed to ensure that all personal data are handled in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance to set procedures and to ensure good practices within the Department on the acquisition, collection, recording, storage, disclosure, correction, erasure and communication of personal data kept by the Department on its employees and members of the public.

CONTROL OF PERSONAL DATA

The Departmental Data Protection Officer is Chief Executive Officer (Administration) and is responsible for coordinating efforts in meeting the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance as well as for the overall management of non-employment-related personal data in the Department.

The Personal Data Privacy Officer is Chief Executive Officer (Personnel Services) and is responsible for the overall management of employment-related personal data in the Department.

Requests for access to or correction of personal data held by the Department should be addressed to the following officers:

DATA ACCESS AND CORRECTION REQUESTS

Requests for access to personal data held by the Department should be made by the form prescribed by the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (the Commissioner).

CHARGE

A charge will be made for data access request to reflect the costs of making available duplicate copy (or copies) of the data concerned. Requestors will be advised in advance of the charge to be levied.
