Tai Po Civic Centre Open Day (Concluded Successfully)
The Tai Po Civic Centre (TPCC) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department was closed for facility upgrading works from 2021. The project scope included expansion of the foyer, the Auditorium, the Black Box Theatre and other improvements, which are now completed. The TPCC was fully reopened on 30 December, 2025. The TPCC is holding an open day on 10 January (Saturday) to give the public a glimpse of the TPCC’s new appearance.
To align with the TPCC's positioning in promoting youth arts, the programmes of the open day will cover a variety of genres to encourage participation of youth. There will be classical Chinese and Western string works by the Hong Kong Youth String of the Music Office, a percussion performance and an interactive workshop by music group Toolbox Percussion, a street dance performance and a workshop by the Hong Kong Education of Innovation and Performing Arts Association and a dance performance of Cyr wheel and veil poi by the Flow Space Arts Studio; as well as a sharing session and guided tour on the building features of the TPCC, a backstage tour and a face and body painting booth for the public to experience the charm and creativity of art.

Percussion Workshop 4pm – 5pm Free Admission By Ticket Quota: 30 Local percussionists will be invited to give a wonderful percussion performance, and host interactive workshops to give the audience a feel of the charm and fun of percussion music through improvisation at a musical feast full of rhythm and energy. |

Through sharing and guided appreciation, you will gain a deeper insight into the design philosophy and architectural significance of the TPCC.

Programme Arrangements
Best for ages 3 and above for all programmes.
- Tickets for the activities at Auditorium, Black Box Theatre and Function Room 2 will be distributed at the Information Counter of Tai Po Civic Centre from 12 noon on the day of the activity.
- Free admission by ticket with free seating. Limited places available on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Each person is allowed up to two tickets for each activity.
- Quota for each activity: 30 persons for percussion workshop, 50 persons for backstage tour, community dance workshop, architectural features sharing session and guided tour.
- Reserved places will be allocated to others if the ticket holders fail to show up within 10 minutes after the activities have started.
- In the event of any dispute regarding ticket distribution and seating arrangements, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s decision shall be final and conclusive.
