Auditorium Hong Kong Dance Company 2:30 – 3:15pm / 3:45 – 4:30pm The more the merrier, as the ancient Chinese adage goes. Dancers will demonstrate various types of Chinese ethnic dance and their rich and expressive movements, and showcase common props in Chinese dance, e.g. sword, fan and long sleeves. Participants are also invited to be promoters of the art of dance by joining a lively guided tour and an interactive session on how to appreciate dances and dance techniques. About the group |

Cultural Activities Hall Cantonese Opera Advancement Association 2 – 3:30pm Discover the mysterious everyday life of a Cantonese Opera performer by becoming one yourself through an interactive experience of stage operation on the Red Boat. You will learn about various techniques including singing, acting, delivery of spoken lines and martial arts on the one hand, and makeup, costume and stage scene settings on the other. Members from different parts of the troupe will take part in the performance to illustrate how the stage works, enabling you to explore the Cantonese opera theatre in a unique and intriguing way. Exhibition Gallery Hong Kong Theatre Works 3:30 – 4:15pm Story Kingdom is about to host the Story Olympics! Members of the Story Adventure Team meet at their headquarters to discuss how best to prepare for the event. They must each choose a story character they love, think of how to introduce themselves, and learn to use special magical tools to tackle different challenges in different story scenarios. Music Studio Cantonese Opera Advancement Association 3 – 5pm Headdresses in Cantonese Opera have their special uses and designs. They do not only help the audience to make sense of the roles of the characters and feel their charm, but also enhance the performance of the actors. In this workshop, veteran instructors will share their Cantonese Opera headdress crafting technique, and will add elements of modern jewellery to headdresses so that participants can create their own pieces for everyday wearing. Programme Arrangements
Best for ages 3 and above for all programmes.
Admission tickets is not required for Auditorium and Cultural Activities Hall programmes.
Limited seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Arrangements for activities at Exhibition Gallery, Music Studio and Plaza:
| * | (i) | If the number of online registration exceeds the quota, places will be confirmed by drawing lots. Successful applicants will be notified before 3 June, otherwise they will be considered unsuccessful. The Cantonese Opera Advancement Association will collect a deposit of HK$100 from successful applicants, which will be refunded on the day after the participants have completed the workshop. However, deposits will not be refundable to absentees. |
| (ii) | Participants with on-the-day tickets will make a simplified version of accessories (30 mins per session) which will be different from those who registered online. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by parents or adults. |
