Sha Tin Town Hall Fun Day 2019 – Music Transcends 2.0

Sha Tin Town Hall is always dedicated to creating a comfortable and relaxing environment for the public to enjoy arts and culture. Every year, the Fun Day held at Sha Tin Town Hall provides an array of delightful arts performances for the community, free of charge. Fun Day 2019 is even more spectacular, with a combination of fantastic stage performances by professional artists and interactive sessions to encourage everyone to join in! Four young and budding local arts groups will come together again since their last showcase in 2017 at Music Transcends – Proms in the Park of the Hong Kong Week @ Taipei, a preeminent overseas cultural exchange event, to recreate in Hong Kong the highly-acclaimed large-scale outdoor musical feast. They are Veloz Harmonica Quartet, a multi-time international harmonica contest winner, who will deliver fresh and lively tunes; a unique "Hong Kong style" ensemble Lo Tung Lo Percussion Group, who employs drum music to create a dynamic and powerful experience; a professional tap dance group R&T (Rhythm & Tempo), who is known for combining precise tap dance routine with upbeat songs; and Romer String Quartet, a widely recognised string ensemble, who will play a series of mellifluous tunes. The four-group will be joined by young Chinese musicians from Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble and talented street dancers from Studiodanz to warm everybody up by inviting audiences to sing and dance together, ensuring a lovely Sunday afternoon full of fun and laughter. We also arrange interactive sessions at the Foyer, allowing visitors to join with the artists in music and dance. An up close encounter with performing arts for all!
