The original On Lok Mun Street Playground was demolished in February 2023 to facilitate the development of the Fanling Bypass (Eastern Section) project. The playground has since been reprovisioned at a site located 150 metres north of its original location and was opened on 12 April 2025. Occupying an area of over 3,800 square metres, the reprovisioned On Lok Mun Street Playground features a skatepark of some 1,600 square metres. The skatepark is equipped with international standard extreme sports facilities, including a bowl course and a street course, providing members of the public an opportunity to experience the excitement of extreme sports. “Extreme sports” is a term commonly used to describe certain activities perceived as involving a high level of skills and challenge. For the sake of safety, all players should be at least 5 years old. Adult supervision is recommended for players below the age of 12. To enhance their safety awareness, all users must thoroughly read the “Skatepark – Players’ Guide” before admission to the venue. Users must wear a safety helmet, which should have safety stripes and fit snuggly. Appropriate shoes are mandatory and people without such footwear will not be allowed entry. The opening hours of the playground are from 8 am to 10 pm daily, while the opening hours of the skatepark may be adjusted due to weather conditions. The skatepark will be closed from 8 am to noon on the first and third Mondays of each month for regular maintenance. |
