Unsung Heroes of Sports
National Sports Associations Outstanding Staff Award Celebrates Excellence
To honour the unsung heroes of national sports associations (NSAs) under the “Sports Subvention Scheme” who have demonstrated outstanding performance, the LCSD held “The Fourth National Sports Associations Outstanding Staff Award” (the Award) in 2024-25. This year, two staff members from different NSAs were recognised with the Award. |

Two Staff Members Acknowledged for Excellence
On 19 March, the list of awardees was announced at the “Annual Briefing for National Sports Associations” held at the Hong Kong Science Museum Lecture Hall. The commendations were presented by Miss Winnie Chui Hiu-lo, Deputy Director of Leisure and Cultural Services (Leisure Services). The two awardees have played an active role in promoting the development of sports in their respective NSAs, setting new standards of excellence that inspire their peers.

Nominees Assessed on Six Areas of Work Performance
Under the “Sports Subvention Scheme - National Sports Associations Outstanding Staff Award” established in 2021-22, the LCSD annually invites NSAs to nominate an outstanding staff member who has continuously served the NSA for more than five years for the award. The nominations are evaluated on six areas of work performance, namely significant contributions, effectiveness of improvement suggestions, teamwork and cohesion, application of information technology, leadership skills, and corporate governance by a professional assessment panel. By recognising outstanding staff, the LCSD seeks to foster a stronger sense of belonging among NSA personnel, inspire professional excellence, and unite efforts to bring Hong Kong’s sports development to new heights.
