Introduction

The Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre is ideally located and has served as a major performance venue in the Eastern District since its opening in December 1990. It provides spaces and facilities for professional troupes and other organisations to stage various cultural arts performance and community activities.

In 2022, the Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre underwent significant renovation and improvement works involving a comprehensive upgrade of its public facilities. Various accessibility features were added to facilitate participation in cultural activities for individuals with different needs. Furthermore, innovative stage equipment and technology were also installed at major hiring facilities to elevate the quality of performances and meet the needs of the performing arts sector.

The Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre reopened in mid-2025, featuring Theatre, Cultural Activities Hall, Rehearsal Room, Art Studios and Music Practice Rooms. With the introduction of immersive sound system, automated tracking system, video and projection mapping system, and live streaming system, the Centre provides a more modern performance space for a diverse range of cultural activities.
