A one-day hands-on theatre workshop to allow participants to have a taste of being an actor or working backstage in a real theatre setting. The workshop will culminate with a work-in-progress showcase at the end of the day.

Guided Stage Tour

This stage tour will let participants have a glimpse behind the scenes of stage production through the demonstration of new stage equipment and facilities after the renovation of the Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre.

Buddhist Ho Nam Kam College

Lion Dance Performance

The Dragon and Lion Dance Team of the Buddhist Ho Nam Kam Secondary School has won numerous awards including the “31st Inter-school Dragon & Lion Dance Championship”.  Being one of the performing groups at the Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre’s Fun Day ceremony, the team will perform to extend blessings to all: good health and prosperity for the nation & its people.  A post-performance experience workshop will be conducted to give the audience a chance to get up close with lion dance heads and percussion instruments.

Hong Kong Drum Ensemble

Hong Kong Drum Ensemble is the presenter of the “Fun Drumming in the East” Drum Music Project under the 18dART – Eastern District Community Arts Scheme.  As one of the performing groups at the Fun Day ceremony, the arts group, led by experienced members alongside the younger generation, will display the exhilarating power of Chinese drumming to the audience and promote Chinese culture on the newly renovated Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre, followed by a Chinese drumming workshop held at the Rehearsal Room.

Youth Outreach (YO)'s School of Hip Hop organises the “YO Dancical” annually, where students and tutors perform together, providing a stage for youth to showcase their talents in dance, choreography, stage direction, music arrangement, costume design, stage lighting/sound and etc.

The Methodist Church HK Wesley College

String Quartet Performance

The Methodist Church HK Wesley College's orchestral team has achieved remarkable results in various music competitions including the Gold Award in the Ensemble (Secondary School Division) in the Joint School Music Competition 2025. The orchestra will perform moving pieces from the Romantic and Post-Romantic periods, offering the audience a melodious and relaxing afternoon.

Six local young jazz musicians will share the wonders of jazz music, focusing on traditional 1960s jazz styles such as Hard Bop, Cool Jazz, Bebop and Bossa Nova, guiding the audience through the essence of jazz.

Ticketing Arrangements for One Day in the Theatre Acting / Stage Production Workshop

  • Admission by e-tickets with free seating. Limited quota.
  • E-tickets can be registered online starting from 9 June 2025, 10am and ending on 16 June 2025, 6pm. Confirmation email will be issued to successful registrants on 18 June 2025. If you do not receive the confirmation email, it means your registration is unsuccessful.
  • Each person is entitled to register for a maximum of 2 e-tickets of each activity.
  • E-tickets will become invalid if the e-ticket holders fail to show up within 5 minutes after the designated session has commenced and their places will be allocated to other persons waiting at the venue.
  • Comfortable clothes and shoes are advisable.

The presenter reserves the right to change the programmes or substitute performers, speakers, and instructors / tutors. The content of programmes does not represent the views of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. In the event of any dispute regarding ticket distribution and seating arrangement, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's decision shall be final and conclusive.
