In the summer of 2021, a group of local children and residents took part in a series of participatory design workshops to envision their dream playground. Bursting with creativity, they imagined a climbing adventure tower with elevated walkways, a rocking platform echoing daily island ferry commutes, dynamic spinners and swings, as well as a vibrant colour scheme that captures the cultural essence of Cheung Chau. These imaginative ideas inspired the design team to revamp the Cheung Chau Park Children’s Playground under the theme “Island Vibrancy”.

Co-designed by children and shaped through the collective efforts of the community, this revitalised playground will grow alongside the children of Cheung Chau, becoming a cherished part of their childhood memories.
