SHA starts visit to Fuzhou (with photos)

 

The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, today (October 18) started his visit to Fuzhou.

In the morning, Mr Lau, in his capacity as head of delegation, attended the heads of delegation meeting of the 1st National Youth Games on behalf of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. During the meeting, Mr Lau interacted with heads of other areas, exchanging experience in local sports development. In the afternoon, Mr Lau attended the opening ceremony of the 1st National Youth Games.

The National Youth Games is a comprehensive nationwide sports event. Hong Kong has sent 214 athletes to participate in 20 events.

Mr Lau will depart for Quanzhou for a one-day visit tomorrow (October 19). During his stay, Mr Lau will meet with cultural officials and engage in cultural exchange as well as view local museums and heritage sites.

Mr Lau will continue with his visit to Fuzhou on October 20 and return to Hong Kong in the evening.
