Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Park and Lam Tin Complex

Over the last year, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) have opened quite a number of leisure facilities, providing you the ideal places to spend time during leisure breaks and holidays. Now we will take you to the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Park and Lam Tin Complex, where you can enjoy the quietness and vitality of this urban city.

Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Park

Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Park is located on the roof of the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Building at 33 Shing Fung Road, Kai Tak, Kowloon, occupying 23,000 square metres. Visitors can enjoy the panoramic sea view of the beautiful Victoria Harbour at this prime location. Opening hours of the park run from 7am to 11pm daily.

The Park is also equipped with various amenities including a central lawn, a viewing platform, water garden, fountain plaza and more. The ancillary commercial area located on the 2nd Floor of Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Building and the connecting public colonnade will be open to the public early this year after the commercial area starts operation by phases. Tourists can admire the gorgeous view of Victoria Harbour, while immersing themselves in the tranquillity of the city.

For public transportation arrangements, the Kowloon green minibus (GMB) service (Route No. 86) runs between Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and Kowloon Bay (Telford Gardens) from 7am to 8pm daily (Monday to Sunday), every 12 to 30 minutes with the fare of $5 (fare for the elderly, students and persons with disabilities being $3). Also, a special recreational bus route service KMB (Route No. 5R), which runs between Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and Ngau Tau Kok/Kwun Tong MTR Station, will be available from 10am to 8pm on Sundays and public holidays. The headway of the above recreational bus route service will be 30 minutes with a fare charged at $6.7. Taxi stands and a fee-charging car park for private cars are also available at the Terminal to facilitate those visiting the Park. All of the above is for reference only. Lam Tin Complex

The seven-storey Lam Tin Complex is situated at 1 Hing Tin Street, Lam Tin. It is equipped with various facilities including a public library, a music centre and a swimming pool, providing excellent leisure and cultural services for residents in the district.

The Music Centre on the third and fourth floor housed a 310-square metre rehearsal hall which is the largest among all Music Office's music centres at present. It has several practice rooms equipped with quality sound proof equipment. These practice rooms can offer an ideal learning environment for music students and orchestra members, where they could enhance their performance skills.

The new Lam Tin Public Library is relocated to the fifth and sixth floors of the Complex after being upgraded from a small library originally in Tak Tin Estate, and become a district library in Lam Tin. In addition to its expanded area and enhanced collection of books, the new library has also extended its service hours and organised more kinds of promotional activities. Comprehensive and diversified library facilities and services are provided for the users, including a multimedia library, a multimedia information system, a computer and information centre, exhibition area, a coffee corner, a babycare room and an express return service counter.

As for the sports and recreation facilities, Lam Tin Swimming Pool located on the first floor is the first indoor swimming venue in the district with heated swimming facilities in winter, so that the public can enjoy swimming throughout the whole year. Besides, the children's playground, roof-top garden and fitness facilities in the Complex are also wonderful places for families to enjoy their leisure time.
