2023 Bun Carnival

Climbing Carnival


The Climbing Carnival will be staged at the soccer pitch of Pak Tai Temple Playground, Cheung Chau on 5 May 2024 (Sunday). Activities include stall games, handicraft making, variety show, wishing bun tower and display of winning entries in the Drawing Competitions for Students.

During the Carnival, the public will have the opportunity to discover the fun of climbing first-hand at the Bun Tower Climbing Fun Day. There will also be a Bun Tower Climbing Team Relay and an Ultimate Team Challenge for local tertiary institutions, government departments, public utilities, commercial and industrial organisations in the morning on the event day. Details are as follows:

Activity Age Rule
Bun Tower Climbing Team Relay 18 or above
(5 members per team)
  • Local tertiary institutions, government departments, public utilities, commercial and industrial organisations will be invited to join.
  • There are two divisions, namely “Local tertiary institutions” and “Government departments, public utilities, commercial and industrial organisations”.
  • Participating teams are required to receive climbing training from the Hong Kong, China Mountaineering and Climbing Union on the event day.
  • The team that completes the designated mission(s) in the shortest time wins.
Bun Tower Climbing – Ultimate Team Challenge 18 or above
(5 members per team)
  • The first 4 teams to finish the Bun Tower Climbing Team Relay in each division will enter the Ultimate Team Challenge.
  • The team that completes the designated mission(s) in the shortest time wins.
