2012 London Olympic Games

The London 2012 Olympic Games were held from July 27 to August 12, 2012. The Hong Kong, China Delegation, consisting of 42 athletes and 44 officials, competed in 13 sports events.

A bronze medal was won in the sport of Cycling. The men’s table tennis team achieved 4th place; athletes from the women’s badminton singles and men’s table tennis singles as well as the women’s table tennis team achieved top eight positions. Also, the men’s 4 x 100 metre relay team entered the semi-final of the athletics competition. Hong Kong ranked 79th in the medals table, and 16th among the 44 Asian countries and regions taking part in the games.
