Ma On Shan Promenade

Introduction

Occupying an area of 5.2 hectares, the 3.2 km long Ma On Shan Promenade was constructed at a cost of $220 million. The Civil Engineering and Development Department carried out seawall upgrading works from May 2007 to September 2008. Shortly afterwards, the Architectural Services Department commenced the construction works of the Promenade for early use by the public. The works was carried out in three phases. Phase 1 (from Kam Tai Court to Sui Tai Road), Phase 2 (from Sui Tai Road to Hang Fai Street, and from Marbella to Villa Oceania) and Phase 3 (from Hang Fai Street to Kam Fung Court) were completed and open to the public on 18 July 2009, 10 January 2010 and 11 June 2010 respectively. Located along the coast of Ma On Shan, the Ma On Shan Promenade is the second large-scale waterfront promenade in Sha Tin. It overlooks Sha Tin Hoi and offers a magnificent view of the peaks of Pat Sin Leng, featuring a panorama of the sea and the sky.
