Booking Procedures

This set of procedures is applicable to booking leisure venues including the six designated wedding areas in specific parks and beach for holding wedding ceremonies.

Opening Hours and Venues

The six specific leisure venues which are suitable for holding wedding ceremonies will be for public use during the manned hours. Wedding couples may choose to hold wedding ceremony at any session during the opening hours in the designated wedding area at one of the following venues:

Applicants for the Wedding Venues

The applicant(s) for the wedding venues should be the bride-to-be or the groom-to-be.

Booking Procedures

The bride-to-be/groom-to-be may submit the application form (for submission by mail, please indicate "Booking Leisure Venues for Holding Wedding Ceremonies" on the envelope") twelve months before the intended wedding day at the earliest. (For instance, venue - booking application should reach the office concerned from 1 to 31 March 2014 if the wedding ceremony is to be held in April 2015. The day on which the application reaches the office will be deemed as the day on which the application is received.) If there is more than one application for the same venue and session, allocation of the venue will be determined by ballot which will be held openly on the 10th day or the following working day of next month. The applicants will be notified of the balloting result in writing by the office concerned within seven working days. The successful applicants should pay the fees, sign and return an undertaking together with the identity document of the applicants to the office concerned within seven working days after the notification is issued. Applicant who chooses to settle the payment by mail shall also send the completed undertaking and a copy of his/her identity document to the office concerned. The applicants may also apply for the unbooked venues or sessions within the immediate twelve months on the last day of each month or the following working day of each month at the district office concerned. Application form should be submitted at least two months prior to the intended wedding day (For instance, venue-booking application should reach the office concerned from 1 to 31 March 2015 if the wedding ceremony is to be held in June 2015).

Notes for Submission of Application Forms

The date applied for on the application form should be the date on which the wedding ceremony is held. The ceremony must be hosted by a civil celebrant of marriages at the venue under application. Please refer to Annex I for points to note for booking of leisure venues for holding wedding ceremonies.

Availability and Submission of Application Forms

Application forms can be downloaded from the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's webpage and they are also available at various District Leisure Services Offices and Lei Yue Mun Park. Completed forms should be submitted in person, by post or by fax to the respective District Leisure Services Offices or Lei Yue Mun Park.

Other Points to Note

Names of the wedding couples cannot be changed once payment is made. A copy of the Certificate of Registrar of Marriages (Form Number: MR12(S)) issued by the Immigration Department should be submitted one month prior to the use of venue to certify the date of marriage of the wedding couples. If the Certificate of Registrar of Marriages is yet to be available by the set deadline, a copy of the official receipt issued by the Government for receiving the payment for filing and exhibition of the notice of intended marriage or a copy of notice of intended marriage with acknowledgement receipt completed by staff of Marriage Registry should be submitted during the interim.  The Certificate of Registrar of Marriages should be provided no later than the date of use.
