Following the success of Les Belles, Doe Ching reunited the original team in this comedy and musical extravaganza, a major production unrivalled in scale at the time. Set in the exquisite world of fashion shows, prudish gynaecologist Yeh Teh-mei (Linda Lin Dai) initially butts heads with the slick fashion designer Shi Ma-ke (Peter Chen Ho). Sparks fly between the bickering couple, however, and they fall in love before tying the knot. As busy careers leave the newlyweds little time together, misunderstandings ensue but Shi's fashion show saves the day. The plot makes way for a grand fashion show at the film's finale, showcasing both musical pieces and costumes from around the world. To boost appeal for the Southeast Asian market, the APFF award-winning actor P. Ramlee and actress Saloma from Malaysia were recruited by the Shaw Brothers as guest stars who appear in the fashion show. The film features the singing voice of 'The Lark' Carrie Ku Mei in the song 'Bengawan Solo' and Linda Lin Dai is credited as costume designer for 26 costumes. Coupled with the vast array of glossy and vividly coloured sets, the film is indeed a parade showcase.
